History

1948 Rubber & Wheel founded by Harold Myhill.

1970 Goldfields obtained 51 % of Rubber & Wheel.

1973 Goldfields sold its interests to BTR PLC and Rubber & Wheel became a member of BTR South Africa JSE listed group of companies.

1985 BTR PLC acquired Dunlop Holdings PLC in the United Kingdom and BTR Dunlop Ltd was listed on the JSE.

1998 BTR PLC sold its share of BTR Dunlop Ltd to a consortium who traded under the name Dunlop Africa Ltd. Rubber & Wheel became a member of the Dunlop Industrial Products Division.

2001 Dunlop Africa Ltd embarked on its strategy to focus on its core business, tyres and the Dunlop Industrial Products Division comprising of three factories Krugersdorp, Benoni an Howick were sold to a consortium represented by the Specialised Group who founded Dunlop Industrial Products (Pty) Ltd.

2003 The Krugersdorp Factory changed its name to Dunlop Rubber Mouldings (Pty) Ltd which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dunlop Industrial Products (Pty) Ltd.
